Passed along some of this info, just as she was setting up with CAA. Good peace of mind to read this.
She got similar coverage to what I described earlier (cheaper deductibles actually), and got it all sorted out. I guess the advantage of dealing with only ICBC is that if you have a claim, it's only one company to deal with, not two, but she is saving quite a bit on CAA I gather, and the idea is to avoid claims
Think she wound up at around $1700/yr, versus $2100/yr she was paying in Toronto, even with higher deductibles. Sometimes west is best after all...

Make sure to get a quote from Canadian Direct insurance too.
they saved me a couple of hundred $ over the other private insurers (which were still cheaper than ICBC).
