Default I really see this as the way in which Audi Canada will deal with the price issue...

by lowering the prices of the new models.

Default Fully loaded US model is $56,940.00 USD

That's with all options included (or the most expensive one included where there's more than one option of the same kind).

I am going to guess that fully loaded Canadian version is going to be over $65K .. like 70K or more, so we are still looking at 10-15K difference.

This is definitely not as bad as 30K difference on S6, but it is still very much worth an effort of importing the car from US.

If you're buying, but 7 out of 10 people lease their cars today.

Default Seriously?? Wow, wouldn't have realized that.

This is so they can have a nicer car for the same money? I can't believe that many people would have a tax advantage from leasing.

Default So you are saying ..

.. that the lease with, say, 10k down with one security deposit over 36 months is going to cost in the end less or the same (including a lost interest on 10k) than an average line of credit and the car offloaded in 36 months at the same residual ?

Frankly, I can't do this sort of math in my head, but I suspect that the lease rate needs to be negative for this to happen

Default Not everyone gets to write it off, a lot of people have car allowances...

also, when you do the math, leasing a car and then buying it makes more sense for a lot of people.

Default Your lease payment is only as good as the rate and residual...

I have no idea how well a car leases in the US, I don't know their residuals or interest rates. I bet that they are different in every state.
Also, I say about half of the people that lease cars from me get car allowances and most have to get a car in Canada. To a lot of people, the price difference have little importance if any.
