B5 PPL: Clutch work Q
It's almost time for me to do a clutch job on my 98.0 B5 A4 2.8Q and I was wondering if a "clutch kit" (the one with a pilot bearing) is enough since I'm getting my own parts.
I have a stiffening pedal and the release bearing is making lots of noise. The clutch also makes a creaking noise when I depress it, like a rusty spring. The clutch grips fine still (no slippage yet) so I'll hold off 'til it gets a little weaker before making the change.
Are the things included in the kit enough? Should I consider getting other parts while I'm at it? I heard that the flywheel may be done but it's impossible to know without taking it apart first...
What's the best brand? LUK, Sachs, Rhino?
Help is greatly appreciated. I'm trying to find a damn Bentley manual but I'm too cheap to pay full retail for it. :P
I tried doing a search but only found limited info. I'll be posting this in the B5 forum if you guys don't know.
