block heater/cruise control questions
Just bought a used 99 a6 quattro. Is a block heater standard? I can't find the plug end and read somewhere that since 01 or so audi doesn't make any cars with block heaters and I don't think mine has one either. I'm not sure how that'll work in an Edmonton winter.
Also, someone took out the cruise control fuse. The weird thing is that even without the fuse, the cruise control works. What's really weird is that it only workse 50% of the time. After starting, it'll either work for that trip or it won't, no matter how many times you try that trip. Then if you restart, it'll work. Any thoughts? I guess I'll put a fuse in for starters. |
It could be an oil pan heater.

Cruise control problems could be due to the switch...
... it was a common problem but not sure about the A6. Maybe try searching the A6 forum for cruise control problems.

As afretes says oil pan heater....
Audi for some strange reason is reluctant to install them. Although VW dealers used to. Southgate may help. The link is US but I'm sure you can find a CDN dealer.
