Default Partially right....they care about price but time is their most precious asset so they opt for

the convenience of Mississauga over Buffalo. Either way, you don't care, they're buying your cars!

Put another way, they are not just buying a product but they are also buying a service. And that my friend is how you compete against the US and the WalMarts of the world.

Default I'd kill to have Owasco rip up my contract

Sadly I am locked on to a new A3 for December pickup. I have lost about 8% more since the deal due to a 1.028 dollar that was .94 at deal time. Even then it was a mistake to pursue the car with the writting on the wall. Is it possible to let them keep my 2k deposit and walk? Or I am legally bound to pick the thing up when it arrives? I'll know better for next time in any case...buy US next time.

Default Right, $10k on $80 is not worth it. $10k on $40k is. Porsche knows that...

... and that's exactly why they lowered prices, to make the difference small enough that people won't care.

In fact, the fact that they lowered prices IS proof that people who buy Porsches were willing to go to the US. I know several personally. Here's a quote the Globe & Mail:

"Yesterday, Porsche Cars North America Inc., faced with its well-informed and well-heeled customer base, said it will "listen to the market" and cut its Canadian prices on 2008 models by 10 per cent"

You're liable to complete the contract, but can probably walk away without your deposit.
