So Bernie claims. But he is also a billionaire as a result of F1 and says he plans to die
on the job. Myself and quite a number of Ferrari owners/F1 fans have sent messages to the factory, that we are not happy with how F1 is being run.
"Ecclestone became chief executive of FOCA in 1978 with Mosley as his legal advisor; together, they negotiated a series of legal issues with the FIA and Jean-Marie Balestre, culminating in Ecclestone's famous coup, his securing the right for FOCA to negotiate television contracts for the Grands Prix. For this purpose Ecclestone established Formula One Promotions and Administration, giving 47% of television revenues to teams, 30% to the FIA, and 23% to FOPA (i.e. Ecclestone himself); in return, FOPA put up the prize money - grand prix could literally be translated from French to "big prize".
Television rights shuffled between Ecclestone's companies, teams, and the FIA in the late 1990s, but Ecclestone emerged on top again in 1997 when he negotiated the present Concorde Agreement: in exchange for annual payments, he maintains the TV rights. The contract with the various teams is to expire on the last day of 2007, and that with the FIA on the last day of 2012."<ul><li><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernie_Ecclestone">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernie_Ecclestone</a</li></ul>

And now you know why I hate Ecclestone, Mosley and Ferrari. They are all in bed together and now...
They are ratting on each other... What scum bags!
Ferrari did betray the other manufacturers a few years back when they wanted to break away from Ecclestone so they screwed the pooch then and are trying to weasel their way into something better now.
I'll repeat it yet again; it is time for the manufacturers to start their own series and if Ferrari doesn't follow I couldn't care less! They have been a pain in the *** long enough.
FIA = Ferrari International Association and by Bernie admitting they "bought them" a few years back to secure them back into the FIA fold just proves the whole organization is very biased towards Ferrari. <b>Ferrari is the Judas of F1</b>. When the other manufacturers offered them to join their new proposed organization Ferrari jumped at it. However Ferrari betrayed them and secretly signed a new Concord agreement behind their backs and in doing so secured the extra money they now get over the other teams as Ecclestone just said.
Mosley basically said the same thing last year. "They (the FIA) will protect Ferrari at all cost".
MB, BMW, Renault, Williams, Toyota and so on should just move on and get their series up and running. Perhaps if they would have done so a few years back the series would have been more stable and Honda would probably be still in this type of racing today.

Given the prestige and history, there can be no F1 or F1=like racing w/o Ferrari.
Maybe with hard work and time, but not in the present climate.
That isn't to say that I like the manipulation that has happened, but it's painfully obvious that if they break from Bernie & Co, they need the deck stacked in their favour - which means Ferrari on board.

I think you guys are too blinded by the Ferrari mystic or red mist. You need to step back and be...
Logical and not emotional about this. Ferrari was Ferrari when the old man was around, you know Enzo. It is not anymore, there is no real Ferrari karma anymore. You are riding a wave, an illusion!
Until very recently Ferrari was a loosing team. When was the last time Ferrari won anything prior to Jean Todt, Ross Brawn and Schumi showing up in the team to make it was it is now?
It took a Frenchman, an Englishman and a German to turn that team around! So what's the big deal with Ferrari? It's not as if it's "Italian" anymore!
IMHO there are small English teams (and perhaps others) that did way better than Ferrari throughout the years with a lot less money but simply did not have the budget to stick around.
Let us be honest here, Ferrari would not be here today in F1 or perhaps even as a car manufacturer if Fiat did not own them. Technically Ferrari is like a bankrupt company and is on life support because of Fiat, period.
Take away Fiat's money and you can kiss Ferrari goodbye.
