My 2008 TT 3.2 Quattro Coupe has had an annoying S-tronic (DSG) issue that has been discussed in various forums. This is not the dangerous fault that puts the transmission into neutral due to a faulty temperature sensor, this is the problem where shifting second to first gear lurches, or shifts from first to second is delayed, and most notably for me was extreme lurching in reverse uphill.

Repeated checks for service bulletins came back with the response "that is normal for S-tronic". But finally last month*the word came through that my mechatronic unit would be changed under warranty. And what a difference it made. It is like a new car.
