think I can get for it? It's about a year old....comes with the standard 18-55MM kit lense that was used for about 6 months before upgrading.

Default Put it this way...

I found an XTi, extra battery, and the 18-55 MrkII kit lens for $590. No grip.

Of course I knew the guy that sold the camera and gave me a good deal.

If you sell your XT and kit lens for around $500, probably $550 tops. I see prices on Craigslist all over the place.

Default I have to admit, the live screen on the XSi is neat

Though how the focus needs to be done if you don't do it yourself is a bit clumsy, but not bad if you're doing the focus yourself, especially for macro photography.

Surprised you're not complaining about the XT/XSi being too small for your man hands lol.

Default Having just bought an XSi last weekend (as Mike knows), I agree the live view is neat,

but I've honestly not used that feature yet.

It's only available in the manual modes, which is kinda odd, since those using the automatic modes are those who would probably want the live-view on all the time (to emulate their point-and-shoots).

Carm, what reasons did you have for wanting to trade up?

Default No specific reason. I figured if I could trade up for a couple hundred then it would be worth it.

More than that - I'll just wait.

Default Sigh. Wish I budgeted more for lenses...

Bought the camera and got engaged at the same time.

Big mistake. Now I'll be rocking the 18-55 and the $100 "nifty fifty" for...well, forever.

No L lens for me anytime soon...

Default Yeah just wait

Your photos won't be any better with the XSi. It's just the new features and such that tries to entice people in buying!
