How come Subaru can offer the Brembo brakes on their cars and Audi can't?

Because then we Canadians will have a starting price on $50,000 on the base model :(
|
Subaru spends money in places that are important for performance like brakes,
engine, AWD system, etc. They have to save money in a host of other places like interior material quality, quality and thickness of the steel used in their body panels, fit and finish, etc. If you want it all, you'd have to buy a Porsche or some other $90k+ sportscar.
Subaru does a good job making trade-offs that appeal to the enthusiast. If their cars weren't so ugly or built like tin cans, I would get an STi in a heartbeat given its price for performance. |
Audi does actually on one model
The Q7 has 6 piston Brembos, more so because it was brought over from its cousin, the Cayenne Turbo.
But the responses below explains it nicely, it's as matter of cost. |
Isn't the S4 higher than $50K. There should be an option package available.
|
Because they have to put something in their cars that is good : )
|
Brembos are over-rated IMHO. Have them on my 20yo Alfa (stock). Besides, they only
slow you down;-P
Now if we could just opt for Recaro SE seats - the ones not for lard @asses;-) |
i dont' think they need them - brembo's are great but audi stock brakes are fine
|
they know you will change them again to something bigger
|
Please don't get me started.
