Default Interesting, lightweight S5 being tested

Whether it'll sell is another thing as Stadler mentions...

Translated from English, original German below...

Stadler to the Leichtgewicht Philsophie of AUDI
Stadler wants fewer weights

Rupert Stadler sets on consumption reduction by fewer weights. To TSI engine and 265 HP there are already one around 400 kilograms facilitated prototypes of the AUDI S5 with 2.0 During the reduction of consumption and Co2-Ausstoß AUDI does not only set on more economical engines. As chief executive Rupert Stadler reported automobile at the beginning of the salon in Geneva in the interview with the cars newspaper, consistent lightweight construction was to create additional potential. ,,We have the prototypes of a S5 finished, which weighs approximately 400 kilograms less, as the current standard model ", explained Stadler. In addition with chassis and body consistently high-strength steel and aluminum however only little carbon were used. Stadler: ,,Default was that the new car does not become more expensive than the current S5. " With the engine the eight-cylinder was replaced with 365 HP by 2,0 the TFSI engine from the AUDI S3, which carries 265 HP out. With the engine the prototype achieves the same acceleration values, as 100 HP the stronger standard model. The accurate values consumed were not determined yet, are however clearly under the values of the Serien-S5. Stadler: " Now we must test whether our customers accept a smaller engine also in this Fahrzeugklasse. "Optical are to differ both models hardly from each other.

Stadler zur Leichtgewicht-Philsophie von Audi
Stadler will weniger Gewicht

Default 400kg is quite a bit to shave off

Wondering if it's some lightened up version of the S5 ... like lighter seats, no rear seats, etc. etc. etc.

CUrious about the diff between the weight difference between the two engines.

Default I'm quite interested in the S5. And I have no need for rear seats.

I would however require a bum warmer as thanks to Audi I now have them perpetually set to level 6.
