Oh hell no....

That sucketh! Even in SoCal, I managed to sell a ton of C5 A6, as well as maybe 50%
of all A4s in stick.
I got my A3 with stick, and passed up the (higher profit margin) V6 because it comes DSG only.

M5 Touring not coming. The stick in the M5 isn't so nice - as noted by several reviewers.
A friend just lemoned his SMG M5. Wouldn't go into gear at times. He also owns a Ferrari 360 CS with the F1 tranny, and has no problems with that, so I don't think it's user error;-)

http://www.leftlanenews.com/2007/01/12/bmws-2008-m5-wagon-not-coming-to-america/</a

The alterntive are slushbox autos, as only the M5/550 gets SMG. Try finding a stick 5 series
I had a friend look for a sport package 330, and it took trucking a car from Arizona to North California - with only 4 in the country regardless of colour.

What's wrong with the DSG?
All you audi o philes should be gaga over the DSG as a replacement for a manual. No more worn out clutches and faster shifts than even the Stig can manage. Of course, Canadian winters would still be a problem.

And why not? it is pretty much the holy grail of the speed shift that
doesn't wear anything out. Nobody can beat a DSG shift, ask any F1 driver about his electromanual box.
