Radar detector recomendations?

Anyone succesfully using a radar detector in Ontario or other provinces were it's not allowed?

I was in Buffalo over the weekend and was looking at units in Best Buy but can't tell one from the other.

Yes I know they are ilegal but I'm not looking to speed like a mad man I just want something give me a little edge from those money speed traps that are not really about safety. I just pay enough taxes already.

Thanks in advance.

Ask in th US forums.

Well....

Yes there are lots of people that do use them, but Police have units to detect them. Its a fine and the unit is taken if caught. Its getting tougher to run safely with one from what I understand.

Passport and Valentine or the two big ones everyone seems hyped on.

Don't do it....

More and more cops are being equipped with the latest technology in Radar Detector Detection.

I know someone over the summer that got pulled over and the cop knew he had one instantly using his RDD.

Not worth the risk... I used them for a couple of years.

My Beltronics is sitting in a closet now.

Solution to that problem is to carry two radar detectors

1 working model which is hard wired and stealth installed in your car.

and 1 broked one that lives in your glove box and cost you less than $20 on ebay. Should you get pulled over, gladly hand over the busted one and move along.

Check out Radartest.com. I've got a Passport and ZR3 (laser scrambler). The Passport works

really well on the highway. I get up to 3-4 minutes of advanced warning with my Passport depending on the road. Very few false alarms also. Having a laser scrambler is also handy as the RCMP are getting more lasers.

With the exception of photo-radar, a radar detector is usless for Calgary city driving as the cops are now all using laser. As a matter of fact I got shot by laser going home yesterday.

So nothing can detect laser?

what good is a radar detector when the snow's so deep you can't speed?

Keep 'em commin', cowboy.
