Default Rail times from Halifax to Toronto

Anyone know the approximate time it takes to rail a new car from Halifax to Toronto?

46 hours according to CN Rail. If you are waiting for a 'sold order' then chances are it will be sent by truck instead.

That would be a sold order. A vehicle heading to the dealer to sit in the showroom or inventory would not be a sold order. Basically it means the vehicle is pre-sold or already accounted for.

Hmm, something is weird then. I'm scheduled to land in Halifax on July 29th, but I'm not scheduled to be at the dealer until August 24th. What's with the 26 day gap if it only takes less than two days to reach Toronto? Sure, it may take 3 or 4 or even 5 days to inspect it before it leaves Halifax, but still... almost three weeks until it gets to the dealer after the fact? Hmm...

At least from what my sales guy told me and from previous experience I would say that is probably Audi being conservative with the ETA. The last time my A4 arrived 3 wks early and this time I am hoping it will come in early too. Q5 arrived in port July 16 and my ETA is Aug 17 but I was updated by my dealer that I should be getting it the last week of July. He said this morning that it might even come in late this week.

Well, please keep us all apprised of your arrival. I'm anxious to see how yours turns out.

BTW: Who's your dealer?

Will do. A guy from Quebec on the Q5 forum had his car delivered 7-13 and it had arrived at port 7-4, so encouraging news there :-)

My dealer is Audi Mississauga... great group of guys. I deal with Luis, a real gentleman.

Hey, looks like we are all on the same "boat"... hahaha

I've got a 2010 A4 scheduled for arrival 07-29 as well, and was told delivery will be around 08-11 last week.
Got a message yesterday saying it could be here earlier, even before 07-29
