UPDATE: AIM MXL Pro05, AIM SmartyCam, hood pins, LED headlights, expansion tank...

And electrical system...

Well it's time to upgrade from the AIM MXL Pista to the AIM MXL Pro05 because it offers more options. Both the Pista and Pro05 are identical in appearance but the latter offers more internal memory plus more analog and digital inputs and you can configure more things with it.

MXL Pro05 specs :

If you're looking for excellence, the most performing data acquisition system, featuring...
2 Deutsch Connectors (for a lot more connections).
16 Megabytes internal memory.
4 speed channels.
12 fully configurable analog input/channels.
Sensors kit and infrared transmitter and receiver.
Min and max RPM values (configurable).
Engaged gear.
10 shift lights.
6 alarm LEDs (configurable as you like).
Lap times with 5 split times.
Total and partial odometer.
Track position and trajectories thanks to GPS.
Lateral and longitudinal acceleration.
Lambda values.
In my set up we are data logging 4 EGT probes, one for each cylinder.

Finally, I decided to pull the trigger and get the AIM SmartyCam. This unit offers DVD like video quality (too bad it's not HD) but in revenge it does offer real time overlay of data on the video. It is connected directly to a standalone or in my case to the AIM MXL Pro05 (which gets data from the Autronic SM4 too). It also as a built in GPS and 3 axis accelerometer. I also bought the roll cage mount for it. It can also be used as a standalone camera and it can be used under water.

The hood pins were finally installed today, here are a few pictures of them. We are waiting for longer countersunk M4 screws 40mm in length to finish the job.

Finally had the chance to take some pictures of the LEDs once installed on the car. The pictures are not that great due to poor back ground lighting and due to the fact the car's battery was low in voltage. I'll try to get better ones soon.
