Autoshow Audi section - not so much :(

I'm not sure who was working on marketing strategy for Audi section of CAS but IMHO they suck. I understand to put R8 on the stand behind barricades but TT ????

You can sit in S8 / S6 but you can even take a look inside a car for ~$40K ??? come on. (for comparison Benz S66 was available to the public as well) TT's door body line is high and placing this car on the stand didn't help at all (If I want to check bumpers I can get a folder)

Luckily for us there was a guy from Audi showing other couple some features and opened the car for a minute but he wasn't friendlest person in the world.

I went to the show mainly to check new TT because my wife was trying to decide between Lexus IS and TT but I guess we need to wait till April.

If Audi Marketing had a clue, they'd arrange some sort of auto show GTG for their best...

... customers and friends of the brand. The Audi clubs would be one source, maybe dealer lists, and maybe even *shudder* AudiWorld®. It wouldn't be a big expense (no need for catering, just let your friends get up close and personal with the cars), and would clearly show how much they value repeat business.

Of course, this assumes there is a working brain in that marketing group, and I'm not sure that's a fair assumption.

They won't do that because they know you'll pull all the knobs off the car. You = thief.

no dot likes pulling the knob off....

PlainRuss 02-10-2007 05:57 AM

If the knobs were the only issue....

Last year we got the priveledge of fixing all the cars after the autoshow. I think most of the cars needed something like 3-5,000 dollars each after they were sitting there. Some of it was nothing more than scuffed door sills and what not from people getting in and out but people stealing rear view mirrors etc is just stupid.

Press 02-10-2007 06:17 AM

i can only imagine what those cars look like after the show....

That's who puts it on, but Audi's FULLY responsible for their area, cars, events, etc.

no.radar 02-10-2007 08:22 AM

Heck, just *rubbing them* is enough for me.

Tim@ConAudi 02-10-2007 11:48 AM

And on a pre-production car there are no replacement parts

That's about it. (Unless maybe they buy the doughnuts, too.)
