Welcome to the 2009 Midwest Treffen Dub Club Invitational.

What is this The Dub Club Invitational (DCI)?
It is a fun way to get the enthusiast clubs from the Midwest together for a bit of good natured trash talking, competition, camaraderie and ultimately fun. The premise is simple - 3 different events - an autocross, a car show, and new for this year a "High HP" dyno competition. Points are awarded for each event and the club with the most points is crowned champion for the year.

The 2009 Dub Club Invitational will be held during the Chicago Volkswagen Organization's, Midwest Treffen. on August 22 & 23, 2009.

Round 1 - Treffen Autocross
Each club will choose the best autocrossing member/car to compete in the DCI class at the Treffen Autocross. This is a straight up time competition, with no indexing. The quickest time wins. The event will be run per the CVO Autocross Rules, except that car classifications are not applicable. As you might expect the car must be owned and driven by a club member. The only restrictions for the car are that it be a VW or Audi using DOT approved tires - modifications are unlimited. The competitor is responsible for providing an appropriate helmet - SA2000 or better. The schedule for this event is as follows:

Saturday Morning - August 22, 2009 - Oakton Community College, Des Plaines, IL
7:30 - 8:30 am - Registration
7:30 - 9:00 am - Vehicle Technical Inspection
~11:00 - DCI Class Cars Run


Round 2 - Dyno Competion
Each club will choose what they feel to be the highest horsepower member/car to compete in a"High HP" drag race competition. Each DCI competitor will have multiple pulls to go for their best number. The car must be owned by a club member, and the dyno runs will be administered by the dyno operator. The only restrictions for the car are that it be a VW or Audi. The schedule & location for this event is as follows:

Round 3 - Treffen Car Show
Each club will nominate a member car for the DCI Class at the Treffen VW/Audi Car Show. We all know that there are some incredible cars in every area, and this will be a great opportunity to see them pitted against one another in one class. The only requirement is that the car be member owned and be a VW or Audi. DCI Show Cars will be judged by a panel of judges. DCI Class car owners may also compete in the general Treffen car show, if they choose to enter their respective class as a regular participant. The schedule for this event is as follows:

Sunday Morning - August 23, 2009 - Oakton Community College, Des Plaines, IL
9:00 - 10:30am - DCI show car registration & parking
10:45am - 11:45 am - DCI show car judging
11:45 am - DCI Class car owners can move to show/club parking if desired

Overall Event Scoring
Points are awarded based on finishing position in each event as follows:
1st place = 10 points
2nd place = 8 points
3rd place = 6 points
4th place = 4 points
5th place = 2 points
6th or greater place = 1 point

The club earning the most points over the 3 events wins the Treffen Dub Club Invitational. Any ties will be broken by comparing the number of events won.

The resulting champion will be crowned at the awards ceremony following the Treffen Show, and will have the glory and honor (and bragging rights) of keeping possession of the CVO’s Dub Club Invitational trophy. We are pleased to announce, that this year the winning club will receive $200.00, courtesy of the DCI Title Sponsor.

In order to be eligible for invitation to the Dub Club Invitational each club must meet certain conditions as follows:

1. Be registered as a Not For Profit Corporation or Club with your home state.
2. Operate as an "open enrollment" club, allowing anyone to join who wishes to do so (provided they meet any applicable, club defined, car ownership rules).
3. Be able to field an entry in each of the 3 D.C.I. events - Autocross, Dyno Event, and Car Show.
4. Receive an invitation to the event by the Chicago Volkswagen Organization.
5. Complete & mail registration with payment ($100) as directed in the invitation

The deadline for club registration is August 15th, so make sure you get your club in!

For clubs that have already received their invitation send in your club registration form now! You will be free to change your representative cars up to the event date.

I guess the only trouble with Audi Club being represented is that the DYNO is going to be 2WD only. Doh!
