I may be wrong, but dont some of our friends like Al, and a few others advertise on these boards, and dump quite a few dollars here? And now, just because of a format change? Am I just being too sesitive?

yes you are IMO...
they support what the owner puts out ...
when it was AW as we knew it prior to this week, it was more valuable to many than AW as we now know it.
It's not personal, it's business.
So they have to decide, is this format with all the turnoff factor for many longtime AWers who supported AW & its advertisers, worth as much to them as paying advertisers as it was before?
As one who has supported both AW and its advertisers, I can answer that question in the negative. I will be here less often, and for less time, than I was before, therefore I will have less exposure to the advertisers.
The notion that just because someone advertises, I should support the site regardless of whether it's made itself less useful to me, is nutty IMO.

Correct, Everyone has a preference - including advertisers that do not like the format, or for that matter that do not like that nobody is here .... and that includes me, I am outta here, but I may come back from time to time - lol

I had this conversation with a few people today...
Audiworld to me is (maybe was?) a great social board as well as a way to reach a lot of my customers. It would be too time consuming and expensive to sponsor 2 message boards.
If everyone moves over to the new site, I will move as well.
The Chicago forum here is (was?) one of the best regional message boards, there are a lot of good people here, and I would hate to split this group just because of a format change.
I do agree that the new format sucks, but I can get used to it, I think...

Classic vB, we don't know who the hell you are agreeing with.
Anyone who doesn't understand the shortcomings of vB:
1. Has too much time on their hands; enough to wade through this ineffectual format.
2. Has no idea how, or concern for, working efficiently.
3. Lubs (superfluous) "feature rich" bloatware in general.
