My old R32 exhaust had a "flapper" valve. Opened up the exhaust under certain conditions like....
above 3500 RPM's, only in 3rd gear or higher, only on or near WOT. I don't recall the exact specifics nor do I care since I ripped it out in like the first week.
I was interested to see the S4 exhaust had the same flapper valve, but one for each side. I do not know the conditions with which the flapper opened for the S4 though. I always thought the valve was a gimmicky kind of "R32" thing, but didn't realize the S4 had the same. Well, not anymore for my wife's car!
