Basic question ... what is the difference between an 2000 A6 B4 and a C5?

Please excuse my ignorance. I've been trying to buy Audi parts from eBay.de for my (US) 2000 Audi A6 2.7T and I keep reading model exclusions for B4 models and C5 models.

??? B4 isn't an A6 at all, it designates an Audi 80/90 model.

Got any examples of said ebay auctions? Other than that I suggest asking the A6 forum.
