Default New standardised European vehicle registration documents causing problems in Germany

As many of you know here in Germany every modification of a car must be approved by TUV or a similar body and then enterd in the vehicles registration document. The new European documents apparently do not have the possibilty to record modifications.

In addition in the "old" german documentation all wheel and tyre sizes released for the vehicle were also listed, if the wheel/tyre combination was not listed you either had to go to TUV and let them approve it and then have it added to the document or you could not fit it. In the new document there is only space for ond wheel/tyre combination. The police here have also not been adequetly informed, a neighbour with a new Saab was stopped by the Police who wanted to give him a fine because his winter tyres were not the size given in the document.

Apparently the Police are to be given access to the TUV computer database and have to check there if a modification is approved or not!!!!
