I replaced the vacuum hoses on my secondary air injection pump and the connections are fine but my check engine light came on afterwards. It says that I have an air leak from vacuum hoses or secondary air injection system. I cannot find a problem with either. Will this cause damage if I continue to drive it this way until I can find the problem. I only have one car but I don't want to damage it because I thought it would be 'OK" until I cold fix the issue.

Suggestions?
