Search failure
I just tried to pull up a post I made about 3 weeks ago in the A4 forum on engine break-in. I was not able to find it. I have a copy of the text in that post and searched for something that was unique to that post and definitely in it. I did a cut and pase when I posted it, so I don't think the failure was due to a typo in the post. Am I doing something wrong?

Ok, sure..
The string I searched for was:
Slosser
It will turn up one result -- the same article which I posted much earlier. There should be two results, the second one not more than a month or two old.

I can't find any other posts the long way either
There are no other posts in the A4 forum this year with the word "Slosser" in it. I did the long and slow search through the SQL server and didn't find anything. The only one I found was posted on 7/12.

Unless someone deleted a thread above it, or it was otherwise lost. But would a "deleted" thread hide it from your long search? It was not a topic, but a reply a few levels down.
Although I may have found another way to reproduce the problem.. I tried searching for other strings in the same post (in case for some reason "Slosser" got munged when I posted it), and the next term I tried: "inordinate" did not pull up either post!
Try using Slosser to pull up the first one, and then search for "inordinate" using the browser "Find on this page" function (Ctrl+F in IE). It is there. Then try "inordinate" using the AW search page. It pulls up others, but won't find either one of the slosser posts.
If I get some time this weekend I'll try to find the missing Slosser post the long, long, LONG, long way (a Go To: <page#> box could save me hours here!!! ) and scan back through all the forum threads. If I find it I'll post a link here, although maybe you don't need it now...

I would still find it in the long search
The only way I could find it is:
a) The message was never posted in the A4 forum
b) There was a typo in the word you had me look for
c) It was editted to remove all of the message
d) Corruption of the database
d is unlikely since it wouldn't hit just one message

You stumbled on a long standing bug
If someone posts a new message and then deletes it, what you described will happen.
In this case, I posted something, and accidentely deleted it and didn't catch it until you just said something.
