Default Audi Club of Florida Monthly Update: February 2008

Upcoming Events!

2/9: Central Florida Monthly Meeting

We will be continuing our regular monthly meeting schedule (2nd Saturday of each month) at Old Germany. The meeting will begin at 2:00pm. Come on out for some good food, great conversation, and to meet some really great Audi Folks.

Old Germany is Located at:
2054 Semoran Blvd.
Winter Park, Florida 32792

2/9: South Florida GTG

Location: Tree Tops Park (3900 Southwest 100th Ave, Davie, FL 33328)

The South Florida Get Together was created in January of 2001 by South Florida VW enthusiast Justin Miller, who was looking to organize a group of VW and Audi enthusiasts that could casually meet every couple of months. From those meager beginnings of three VW Passat owners hanging out in a parking lot in Deerfield Beach came one of the largest and fastest growing VW/Audi events in the United States.

Today, the South Florida Get Together is held annually and attendance has soared to over 1200 people and 600 cars. The event was once a small informal get-together held wherever the group could find a spot, and today it is a day-long event held at major venues in sunny South Florida. From the humble crowd of a few VW/Audi enthusiasts, the event has now drawn hundreds of VW and Audi enthusiasts from all over the world. While the main draw of the event is the numerous cars representing decades of VW and Audi models, the event also includes an all-you-can-eat BBQ, an extensive line of vendor booths, a raffle, and more. And best of all - unlike other large events - everyone gets together in a fun, non-competitive, no-pressure environment.

3/13-3/15: 12 Hours of Sebring

Come join us for our 7th annual Audi Corral sponsored by Audi of America! The corral will be along the same lines as last year. Prices and the website link for ticket and corral pass purchasing should be announced shortly. We will be needing volunteers, anyone interested in helping out, please contact me. Stay tuned!

3/29-3/30: Roebling Road Audi Club Florida Driver's event

Join the Audi Club North America Florida Chapter and Revo Technik at Roebling Road Raceway the weekend of March 29-30, 2008 for an exciting two-day Driving School. The 2.02-mile asphalt road course consisting of nine turns is located just 20 miles from beautiful historic downtown Savannah, Georgia.

Learning high performance driving in the relative safety of a closed track will add to your enjoyment of your Audi, as well as make you a better street driver. High performance driving in any car is all about learning to control the car, and not having the car control you. It is about concentration, vision, familiarity with your car, its responses to your inputs, and your reactions to its responses. It is NOT about racing, and this is NOT a racing school! Put your brain in a learning gear, and check the racing ego at the door. Remember that this school is about safety, control, and enjoying these great cars.

Registration fees are as follows:

Students: $299 ($350 after 2/29)
Instructors: $50 ($100 after 2/29)

Cancellations will be assessed a $50 fee. NO CANCELLATIONS AFTER MARCH 16, 2008.

We look forward to everyone getting involved and helping this club succeed!

Sincerely,
Jonathan Rudich - President - Audi Club of Florida
