Freaking Jiffy Lube!!!!
Apparently that is who dis jessica's car's last oil change. Turns out that the moron that did it, crossthreaded the drainplug into the Oil pan and completely stripped the oil pan...

This is another example why I want to slap people silly for going to Jiffy Lube.
So many horror stories, why do people do it?
Good luck on getting Jiffy Lube to admit liability and to cover the cost of a new pan.

Here is the story...
The steel plug stripped the threads the entire way through the Oil Pan.

There is not enough metal left in the Drain pan to rethread the hole for the same size bolt. I could retap the hole for a larger Metric bolt, however, I don't feel comfortable doing that with the pan on the car. The metal shavings due to tapping the hole will not be attracted by the magnet in the pan due to the fact that Aluminum is not Magnetic.
So that is going to leave the only hope of capturing the threads and shavings up to the Oil filter. Depending on where the oil goes first, it may not catch it...
Cant do a helicoil due to the fact that you can see in the "threads.jpg" that the treads are no longer there.
Only options are a new oil pan or a removal/reatapping.
