Siesta key Beach, or Lido Beach for a family in mid March....and weekend better than weekday?

IMO, Siesta is definitely the nicer beach...
but St. Armands Circle, which you drive through to get to Lido, is much better than Siesta Village. So if you're going to hit up a restaurant afterward and maybe do some shopping, etc., Lido may be the better choice as you'll be driving through St. Armands to get to and fro.
If you are *just* doing the beach thing, I'd go to Siesta, hands down.
