Default anyone BOSE?

hej people, i see many posts here regarding home theater systems. i have a question for you all did any of you ever own a BOSE HT system?? i enjoy watching movies with my wife in our free time, well among other stuff, but my yahaha 6.1 speakers that i had just weren't too great i saw a BOSE HT system and i intend to check it out, but first i wanted to see if any members had one, now i know there are probably cheaper solutions but i want to stop changing my setup every few months. the BOSE i have in view is the BOSE lifestyle V35 i read incredible things about it, i know bose only from audi car systems that's why i'm asking you.

thank you in advance for any replies

See if you can find any technical specifications on their speakers / system. Last I checked they didn't publish them, which to me means I'm paying more for their marketing than for a quality product.

Look at this thread on audioholics. Especially post #6

I've auditioned Bose and wasn't impressed at all. I am a Klipsch fan and have a Klipsch RF-7 home theater setup as well as Klipsch Forte's for my 2 channel system with vacuum tube amplifiers.

Klipsch speakers are very efficient (103dB for the RF-7) which make them play very loud with not much power.

^ This. Properly done 2-channel will sound spooky-good, making you think you have surround sound. Your room, where you choose to position your main speakers, primary & secondary reflections from walls & floors all affect what you hear, so consider adjusting some of this before you spend money on different gear.

Adding a properly-placed subwoofer to an existing 2-channel system can really transform the overall sound.
Sometimes the amplifier isn't the best choice for the speakers, or vice versa as A6 4.2 Vier mentions.

Never been a Bose sound fan myself.
