My 1993 cabrio has an inline 5 10v NG engine. Idle is rough and pulsing and black smoke comes out of the tailpipe. Seems like too much fuel. When I press the accelerator, it revs but still in a pulsing way. Any suggestions?

first thing first check all of your vacuum lines and your intake boot... i had a problem like that and it ended up being a vac leak.
