Garagenous Zone Open House

In addition to my quiet presence on AW, I am also a habitue on the Garage Journal forum. We have GTGs in our area, and I'm hosting the first one of the new year in my garage.
I am also showing my latest car project. The car in the pic has been sold, and a new one is on the works. Here's a hint: all aluminum monocoque chassis, amazing billet suspension, and LS7 power.
The GTG is on Saturday, January 3, 2009 in Clifton, VA (in the NoVA area). Please PM me for directions if you are planning to come.
-Will
PS: Audi content: My DD B5 S4 will also be in attendance.

Rog: OT seat questions.
1. How hard would it be to have a seat without sub-belts modified to safely include sub-belt holes? (End product must be OEM quality.
2. Would a Recaro seat that was OEM (Subie) mate up to standard Recaro brackets and sliders?
I have found some cheapie seats of interest, but have the above issues to resolve. If I can't get past the two issues above, I'll move on.

Hmm... no seat expert by far... but...
1-For my seats that are currently in the car one could cut a 1x2.5" hole in the center of the cushion to have the belts run straight up... Then stitch the material together along with some sort of plastic lip for durability... I wouldn't call this perfect by any means and wouldn't be FIA certified, since its a reclinable seat, etc. etc. You could also install them like mine are currently installed where the sub belts wrap around the center bolster, then proceed to the correct anchoring points.
2-This is also a tough one... Just because a seat say's Recaro on the seatback doesn't mean it's a universal fit Recaro seat... B6 S4 seats are Recaros, but have the OEM mounting system. It you can find out what the bottom looks like on the seat, then you should be able to see if there is a way to unbolt the Subaru hardware and replace with the universal hardware. Might also want to contact Mike (Hokie 90) and he put aftermarket seats into his WRX, so he should know how compatible they were with the hardware that was there.

Thx.
I'm not going to pursue it too far. PCA requires that all harnesses have a sub belt and that the sub belt run through a seat manufacturer's sub belt hole. Probably not worth the pain.

Sounds good. I plan on attending, especially as we're pretty close to each other.
For some reason, last night I thought it said the GTG was on Sunday. Saturday, Jan 3 is good. I sent you an email last night with the wrong date, but Jan. 3 is good. See you then.
