I called dealer and they want almost $500 for new alternator and 5 hours of labor at about $115/hr. Ouch!

German car garage that was previously recommended to me (Atlantic Autowerks) no longer has an Audi tech and won't service car.

Any reputable, independent garages in the area that charge fair prices and can be recommended by members?

A non-Audi garage may also be fine since alternator swap is apparently fairly easy, and I could try and do most research how steps in these forums.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
