Audi service by VW dealerships

Audi service by VW dealerships
Just moved to IL and there's no Audi dealership within 25 miles of where I am. Visited a VW dealership service manager who was reluctant to perform scheduled maintenance on my 2007 A3. What's up with that?! It's a kissin' cousin of the Golf/GTI series, fer cryin' out loud. He even said, "at our VW service schools, they never mention the 'A' word." Audi is an 'A' word to VW shops?! He even asked me if I have an Audi oil filter for the 2.0T engine. I don't understand HIS lack of understanding -- it's the same engine that's in several VW models. I'm going to have them (attempt to) do the 25K mile service anyway. I can't believe I'd have any warranty issues using VW parts vice Audi parts.
Anyone have an opinion (bad question to ask, huh?!) or experience with this issue? What am I missing here?
Thanks. Runt owner

Re: Audi service by VW dealerships
ya odd stuff. I've tired buying parts from VW dealer but they don't have the capability to translate the audi pn to the vw pn. I know lots of the parts have to be shared across the VAG line.

get a copy of ETKA for home ,supply them with the part #'s for your service work
I'd also call AoA and ask them about the situation like thomas1978 suggests. Maybe just give up on them and go the Audi dealer that is farther away.
