Got two tickets on Hwy 40 in town and country(St. Louis County)...
First one was for speeding, 85 in a 60(cop paced me between 270 and mason), and the other was for tailgating 3 cars. Any suggestions? Similar experiences?

Welcome to St. Louis County's BIGGEST speed trap, good ole T&C. Call Traffic Law Center, they'll fix it.

Crap, I haul through there on 40 all the time...guess I better slow down.

It was definately a speed trap...
I saw that the cops had pulled a few cars over on the side of the road. I was past them and I thought I was safe. With the tint and dimming mirror I never recognized the cop in my rear view mirror until the lights came on...
Word to the wise - +20 over the speed limit is a mandatory court appearance :( |
Did you call TLC?
CHIO just told me about this forum. I've only been on the B6 one before. I may be able to help you out on a future ticket.

No, I'm having a lawyer friend take care of it for me...
$100 to take care of the 2 tickets, plus the fines.
I see by your sig that you've driven at gateway. Do you participate in the BMW/porche club events there? Do you go to any of the Audi club driving schools? |
Good deal
That's a fair deal on the tickets.
I did the BMW school this past Nov. It was my first, but I'm completely addicted. I've never been to an Audi school. I plan to sign up for the Porsche one next April. I also want to go to Putnam Park next year. My goal is 3-4 events a year. |
Gateway is a very dangerous place to learn...
I've been to six Audi club schools, and they have all been great. I have been to Blackhawk 3 times, Road America 2 times, and Putnam Park once. Putnam Park is a great course to learn on, very open, lots of curves and slight elevation changes.
I have never particiapted in the Porsche/BMW driving school, but I took the "high performance experience" once. I got the impression that they expected incidents at their events, and the Audi club events usually don't have incidents... I prefer the Audi club events personally... Plus if it is just the Porsche club, only Porsches can enter. |
Interesting...
I think BMW did a great job of trying to keep it safe, but there are some walls to hit. On the first day it was rainy, and a guy in a Carrera 4S banged up 3 sides of his car and took out a light post. The next day a guy totalled an EVO.
