4000cs upgrades

I own a '86 4000cs quattro and I want to get some more performance out of the engine. I am thinking about swapping in a 5000 turbo motor or a 200 engine for the 2.3 that is in there now. I would like to know what changes need to be made to accomodate such a swap. Also, I would like to know if anyone has any information on the 4000 that is pictured in the hill climb event on the A4.org page. Any info is appreciated. Z.C.

I would suggest checking out the QuattroList web site: http://coimbra.ans.net/quattro.html. It is usually frequented by people who have a lot of experience working with older Audi models like the 4000. I've found it to be the best Audi related site for the DIY'er by far.Good luck

Hillclimb 4ktq

I believe the car you refer to is Duane Hale's (former) 87 with a 10v turbo engine. Dark grey, Recaros, this car was featured in EC early last year (feb?), I have the issue and can check. I was luucky enough to drive that car, it goes pretty nicely. It was purchased by Pete Kunzler in the Seattle area. We get to see it pretty often now. The turbo conversion was done by 2Bennett Audimotive in California. There are currently 5 turbo 4kq's in our area, most being installed by local owners. Email me for more info.>>>>>Bernie
