90 vs 924s
For about what it will cost me to fix my audi(plus the value of the car), I can get an 87 924s, with 135k all records with the car, complete service, taken care of, garaged etc...
What I am wondering is this smart to do, I know what is wrong with my audi now, but it does have 192k on it, so things are bound to come up.
Basically I need a car to last a year and a half without any major repairs. I know that in the last summer the seal in the 5 speed trans was leaking on my audi, and will probably need to be replaced, so there is an example of something I dont want to do.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Generic advice...
Keep the 90. There are many examples of good running 90s with well over 200K on the clock (the guy I bought my UrS4 from, has one). The thing is...buying the Porsche will be a gamble, no matter how good it looks. Maybe it won't give you any problems, maybe it will. But, since your biggest concern is that it NOT give you problems for a year and a half, then go with what you know (the 90) or buy a Honda Prelude (price and performance same or better than 924, reliability WAY better than any Porsche or Audi). I know this isn't what you wanted to hear.
