A6 price!

My dad is considering buying a 99 A6. I negotiated a price of $35,200 for one with the 16 inch wheels, leather, and convenience package. We live in Florida. Is that a good price? It is about 5.2% above invoice (with the destination charge included). Please let me know. Also, if we choose to get an A6 with no options (yes they have one) how much above invoice should we pay? About 5.2% too?<p>Thanks in advance.

I would think that you could do better than 5.2% on a non-quattro A6. The A6 is not really a hot seller like the A4. Some people have done better than 5% on A4 quattros, so you should be able to get a better deal with some work.<p>I am not sure how advisable it is to get a stripped A6. The resale on this car is going to be pretty tough, since it is considered to be a luxury car. I know that A4's or BMW's here in LA that somehow don't have a sunroof (because buyer backed out of deal usually. Dealers never order a car without sunroof) stay on dealer lots for months on end. Nobody who spends over $30K would go without a moonroof. <p>If you decide to get this stripped A6, you should negotiate for a very low margin over invoice (like less than $1000 over invoice). I am sure the dealer would be eager to get rid of it and you should use that to your advantage. Try to switch the 15" wheels/tires to the 16" package. At $225 it is a real bargain and vastly improves the looks of the A6. The dealer should be able to add this option.
