Climate Fault Codes
I have the following fault codes on my Auto Climate control
11.7 - Central flap, Sporadic block
15.1 - Air flow map motor potentiometer static open.
Any Ideas how to go about fixing this?

A while back I had my car in for some other repairs and they said that the whole
control unit needs to be replaced(~$500), not sure I trust that one or it was worth it.
Also, out of curiosity sake, what's not working? On mine it the rear central vents.

There is a problem with the servo motor, or position feedback potentiometers of the servos which change the position of the air "valves" (flaps) of the ventalation system. Could also be just an intermittant connection (wire harness or connectors) between these servos and the control "head" unit. Could also be a mechanical binding or blockage of the free movement of these flaps, which sets an error code because the servo motor can't acheive the commanded flap position, as sensed by the position feedback potentiometer. Need the Audi factory service manual to locate and troubleshoot the servos.

I'll pull the ACC Head this weekend and check the
connections. I'll also rmove the glove box and see if I can't get back there and find the flaps.
I had a similar problem with my volvo which ran totaly on vaccuum pressure, this sounds electrical but if theres a physical blockage I may be able to find it.
