Fixed Idle problem on '85 5000S. Is it safe?
Any comments????
They had two as well, one was for cold starts the other was the load sensor. Sounds like you pulled the load sensor!!
Again, I'm just using an educated guess!!
What's everybody else think?

Disconnecting the full throttle switch is a bad idea if you drive the car hard. You will be at the wrong fuel mixture at full throttle (actually anything over 3/4 throttle). This could lead to problems. Or you could just drive the car gently.
Get your vacuum leak solved, and then plug the connector back in.

I have re-connected the full throttle switch, disconnected the ISV, and everything is fine.(Thanks Todd). In effect I guess I'm using only part of the stabilization system. (cold start, warm-up, and compensation). I have tried to find the vaccumm leak without luck. It may be buried behind a panel somewhere. I think I will just leave it disconnected for now. (have the P/S pump to worry about first).
Maybe it should be called the
"Idle De-Stabilization System"
