Fuel Pump Buzzing - Any replacement tips
My fuel pump is very making a loud buzzing noise and I have a replacement pump and filter on the way. Any tips on installing the pump to avoid getting soaked in gas.
There is a hose from the tank to the pump. Do I just clamp this? Do have to drain the tank?
Anyone who has done this job and has some advice for me, I would really like to hear it.

You don't have to drain the tank. Just get all the "upstream" hoses off and get the fuel pump free....then swap the pumps as quick as you can at the gas tank hose. You won't loose that much gas!!!
It wouldn't hurt to have the tank on the low side!!!
Also, make sure the cars cold. You don't want to have any gas near warm exhaust parts!!

I recently replaced the pump on my 91'100 with not too much problem. As you know, access is through the trunk floor which eliminates having to drop the tank. Run the gas down as low as possible and make sure to disconnect the battery to avoid any sparks or static electricity. I got a real nice step-by-step guide from Chis Miller's web page(I think it came from there).
