Default Suspension settings
Do any of you have alignment spec suggestions for a 5KTQ? It is my daily driver. I am installing Eibach springs and thought a little extra camber was in order, especially in the back. Any thoughts?
Todd W

Why "especially in the back:?
The Type 44's are very nose-heavy, and need more camber in the front.
I run my 200tq with H+R's at negative 1,2 front/0.8 rear. I'd really like to run more,
but this is my daily driver, so it is a comprimise.
If you wanted to be more conservative, I would think 1.0f/0.6-0.7r.
HTH
erik

Maybe it's not set at all right, but it almost looks like there is positive camber in the back right now. At the least it is straight up and down. I don't want to have the back out of proportion with the front, but I need a little more sheetmetal clearance (ET35 wheels).
Thanks for the input, one other source suggested neg 1.0fr / 0.5r and 1/8" total toe out in the front (no toe for the back). Is your tire wear bad with your settings? I'm inclined to go closer to what you suggested.
I get to do this all over again, albeit with the fun settings, next year for the UrQ. For the 5KTQ I just want good solid highway and town compromise. Mind you I drive somewhat aggressively for both. However. there's no such thing as a twisty 2 lane road near Dallas.
Todd W
86 5KTQ 200K, 250+hp, IA stage II, hybrid, Borla race, K&N

Unfortunatly, I put the car in storage in August, so I can't really comment on wear.
As for toe, I put just the SLIGHTEST amount possible of toe IN for the front, and a touch more toe in in the rear.
Now, I have a question for you: Do you have a stock suspension (ie not lowered)?
What kind and size wheel do you have? What size tires? On my car with H+R springs, 205/55-16 tires on 16x7ET 37 wheels (from a A8) would not fit without well over -1 deg camber in the rear. Obviously not acceptable because I would of had to run around 1.8 deg in the front to balance the car. Anyway, I flared my fenders.
Erik
Default The Attack of the Killer Baseball Bat
I don't have a lowered suspension just yet, but the Eibachs I plan on putting in this weekend will bring it down an inch. I expect this to require bringing out the baseball bat, again. I have 205/55-16 on 16X7 ET35 5-spoke copies from Tirerack.
Todd W
