98 hours before the real fun begins
Looking forward to 5 days wandering around the Lost Coast and Mendocino, Humboldt, and Trinity counties in Northern CA.
I'll be staying in Ft. Bragg the first night, Willow Creek the second night, Garberville the third and fourth nights. Packing light and staying in hotels (back-pack on the rack and camelback for some soft goods).
I'm installing fresh tires Friday morning, changing the oil, then packing my bags for a Sunday AM departure.
I have a few roads that I definitely want to hit up and a tentative route planned that will cover 180-280 miles per day. The total trip is going to be a bit over 1,000 miles and will take me through Usal Road, Avenue of the Giants (254), 299, USFS Road 1 through Six Rivers National Forest, 36, Alderpoint Road, and several other choice moto roads. I'm looking at about 150 miles of dirt and less than 200 miles of highway (mostly 2 lane sweeper sections) with lots of goaty mtn pass roads and canyon twisties.
Pics to come...I get back on the 11th or 12th
Anyone else have road trips planned this summer?

Not that I know of.
Rt 1 has some good spots, Preachers Pass is pretty good, but I have ridden, with locals, most of NorCal and not seen anything like Deals Gap. Of course, Deals Gap is not the best road in the NC/TN area by any stretch. Stay at Hunts Lodge and ask Jack Hunt for directions. Tell him I sent ya

gap looks fun but to much traffic...norcal has some quality back roads that you don't see anyone on
some can be goaty but others are track like (just no corner workers and finish line).
