Default Another First Bike BT Thread

i am looking into getting my first bike not due to gas prices, just something i always wanted to do, i am still in the process of getting my license, but in the mean time i started my bike search and as a total beginner who never been on the bike i narrowed it down to 2 choices both Kawasaki
1. 250 Ninja
2. Vulcan 500

both seem like a very good beginner bikes.
After a season or 2 i would probably want a bigger bike, which most likely will be a cruiser

Default If you're staying in the cruiser line...

...you might as well stay with the Vulcan. It's a very decent bike and much better suited for a male rider as opposed to a Honda Rebel or Suzuki GZ250.

If you stick with the Vulcan for a couple of seasons, and really enjoy and pay attention to your riding, a good choice for the next bike would be a Yamaha Vstar 1100/1300 or a Honda VTX1300. Something in the 1100-1500cc range. Don't bother hitting the 650-900cc range because there's not really much more power than the 500 due to the bike just being physically larger.

Where are you, BTW?

Default Pfft, no way! The ONLY streetfighter is the 1340cc Suzuki B-King! =P

Totally joking, of course.
