Default Helmet Brands....

I'm in the market for a new helmet. Its been a while and I'm not familiar with some of the brands out there. I know HJC is kinda at the bottom of the list for a cheap helmet, and Arai is probably in the top 3 (if its not #1) along with Shoei.

I've been fitted for an Arai, but at $600, its a bit steep. While I certainly believe the old adage, if you have a cheap head get a cheap helmet, but that's a bit out of what I can afford at the moment. I've found one or two Icons that look nice.

Where do some of the others fall in? Icon, Scorpion, KBC, Shark, etc.

Default I actually have the AGV Miglia Modular lid. I expected it to be a 200 dollar...

...interim helm till i got myself a Nolan or something better....but i really love this one. Its fits perfectly for my head, build very well for the price and SUPER light. Got room for headphones, flip face is easy to use and sturdy. I ride with the face up around town and no worries of it falling down on me. Its a touch noisy at hwy speeds...but with music...i barely notice it.

Pretty sure its not Snell rated though...so if thats a factor...

Default well...

each brand's got different models in their lineup. Find one that fits you right.

Arai, Shoei, and Shark are my personal fav.

call up my source and see what prices he can give you. Both DI and I got our RX7 at a pretty decent price. We both have a couple of RX7s.

Default You ride with headphones?

That doesn't seem very safe.

Default I've been through that site forwards and back....

many times!

Actually sent a friend up there the other day looking for a set of full track leathers. Gave the place two thumbs up!

I do like the Arai, especially since I was trying it on and other new ones. I think the Arai spoiled me as the rest didn't feel as nice.

I'm still enough of a n00b that I will insist that the helmet will need to have colors that match the bike!

Default do the opposite.. helmets are like faces. Spend the most amount of money on gear and bike maintenan

maintenance... forget modding.

I say wait another paycheck and get the arai/agv/shoei/suomy.

Default I wonder why that is? Because they can't guarantee you'll have it down and latched 100% of the time?

are ANY open face helmets snell approved? I have never even looked at them..
