KTM 690 SMC?

I'm considering picking up a mid/large bore supermotard for this coming season. Does anyone here ride one on a regular basis? I would use it mostly for urban/suburban commuting to work and back road fun.
Right now I have a Kawi Z1k and it feels almost wasted to me. Riding around on the street I rarely have the opportunity to exploit its power or handling abilities. I feel like I might actually have more fun on a bike with less power, and a SM weighing ~300lbs wouldn't hurt either. Also the long travel suspension would be a better match to the crap pavement where I live in new england.
Other than being pretty windy on the highway, is there anything that would make a bike like this a pain to live with on a daily basis?

I'd say seat comfort on long trips and highway riding are the main disadvantages with my DRZ
another 290 cc's would be bitchin' on a bike of similar weight. I went with the DRZ400sm because it's not a maintenance ***** and performance parts can be fould easily.

Yeah, it seems hard seats are a common criticism.
Most days I wouldn't be on it for more than a hour or two at a time, and aftermarket seats can always be found.
As for maintenance, this one isn't supposed to be too bad. I've read the older european SMs were basically race bikes with lights and need to be serviced as such. Some of the newer ones are being designed specifically for the street, so the engines are tuned down a bit (probably why they are upping the displacement) for longevity.
The only problem with that is there hasn't been much time to build up a good used market so I might have to drop the cash for a new one or hope somebody sells theirs after owning it for only a year.
