Poll: Arai or Shoei
Its time for me to replace my motorcycle helmet and I've got it down to two brands. Weighing price, comfort, fit, finish, quality, etc, which did/would you purchase?

Which motorcycle helmet manufacturer do you prefer?

Honestly, the one that fits your noggin better. let that be the deciding factor since
both are premium helmets. I went with Arai, my bud has a Shoei head. Can't go wrong with either.

Its been a little while since I tried both on..
But I thought they both fit me about the same. If anything the Arai was SLIGHTLY better, but I really had to think about it to tell.

What Blue said below is quite true...
...go with the one that fits you better as they are both top shelf helmets. I personally prefer Arai (current helmet is the Quantum-2) over Shoei, and I've owned both of them. They are both light helmets (the Arai has a slight advantage) and vent extremely well...especially if you go top of the line models like the Arai RX-7 or Shoei X-11. IMHO, you really can't go wrong with either brand.
If it came down to it again I'm pretty sure I'd get another Quantum-2. Arai's quality is just out of this world. Also, going through many helmets over the years, I've decided that with the Arai I've experienced the least wind buffeting. That was something that's bothered me since day one.
Also, depending on which model Shoei you go with, they have diffusers on the back of the helmet which stick out a fair bit. I'm one of those people who aren't happy about things sticking really far out from my helmet. There's a risk that in a crash it'll catch on the pavement and pull your entire head in that direction. It's a slight chance...but I don't feel that the part sticking off is doing such a great job that it's worth risking it *shrug*.

As others say, whichever fits you best. I have a shoei
only because that is all the place i got it from had there for me to try on. I really like it. But, if there was a Arai there that fit me better or i liked more, i'd have no issue getting it. My roommate has always had Arais and he loves them.

Which model is that?
One of the reasons I was leaning toward the Arai (fit being equal on both) is that the Arai has the nose deflector and I thought the Shoei didn't.

RF-1000 TC-1
I went to a local shop, and tried on Shoei, HJC, KBC, and Arai helmets. Shoei felt the best to me.
