Today's outing - map and crappy cell pics
172 miles with about 40 on one lane canyon roads and 30 of dirt.
Here's a rough map. my gps ran out of juice mid-ride so I had to recreate the second half of the ride

stopped here for lunch...about 2 miles in on a 3 dirt road that isn't traveled much. I took my break where the road turned to a cow trail.

the view at lunch...the last range is where I'm headed
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/115128/photo0063.jpg">
back on the pavement

the reason you shouldn't push it when you can't see around blind corners. the road had a thick layer of hay at the exit of this turn.

back on the dirt and time for another break. notice the sheriff in the top right...he was watching the ab divers.

The view from my resting spot. the water was really calm today.

leaving the ocean behind

last 12 mile stretch of dirt
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/115128/photo0082.jpg">
home...the bike is ready for a bath

it definately was...just have to steer with the throttle in the loose stuff
Most of the dirt had about 1/2" to 1" of soft stuff on top of hard pack but it was gravel for a couple sections. That sucked as some spots were deep. Only a mile or so was real dicey...steep downhills in the dirt with multiple switchbacks suck when running street tires.
