Working on my K1200LT makes the C6 look simple

After a good amount of buyer research, I bought a 2000 BMW k1200lt.
Now, I've spent the last month prepping myself for the preseason maintenance & updates.
I have to say that this bike is intimidating to perform usual maintenance & repairs on. An example is that you have to remove loads of bodywork & the gas tank(which is buried in the frame) to change the air filter.
What I've realized is that you "cluster" maintenance tasks, & perform them on a planned schedule, to have some level of "efficiency of scale" in your maintenance. I'll change the fuel filter & hose u-bend, in the tank, when I change the air filter, etc. Another example is that I'll have to pull the pan to clean the sticking starter clutch. Whenever you have to do just about any maintenance or repairs on this bike, you have expect to remove an hour's worth of bodywork & deal with impossibly limited access.
Meanwhile, the bike's got a fragile clutch that you have to take half the bike apart to get to. Fortunately, mine's been recently replaced.
But, this bike is the best handling big bike for two-up touring, which is why I got it!
It's sort of like the A8's, with their air suspensions & buried power steering pumps, etc. But, what a ride!
