Default 4000tq rallying in S. Carolina

For all you Audi fans out there...we will be campaigning an old-school Audi 4000Q in the Sandblast Rally on Feb 6, 2010. We hope to get some support from Audi enthusiasts everywhere as we attack the forest roads in the Sandhills National Forest near Cheraw, S.C.
The Audi 4000q is powered by a modestly modified 2.2 MC Turbo motor rated at a Dyno-tuned 272hp with a 34mm turbo intake restrictor as required by the regulations. This car was formally a road-race car during the late 80's and early 90's and was recently converted to an "Open" class rally car by QuattroMotion of Newark, NJ - better known today as QuattroHaus. The vehicle is currently owned by the veteran Swedish-Hungarian rally driver Tibor Von Denes of Charleston, SC and he has graciously loaned the vehicle to us for it's home event.
Clearly, this rally car is out-classed by its more contemporary rivals such as Subaru WRXs and Mitsubishi EVOs, but unlike a paved race circuit, loose surfaces such as the sandy roads in northern S.C. become a natural equalizer of the machinery - which reduces the Audi's handicaps. The technical specifications of the Audi 4000q is not as impressive as its competitors, but we intend on being a force to contend with in the forest. What we do have in abundance is a proven chassis, reliable drivetrain, lengendary traction and an experienced race team.
The Audi is being piloted by the experienced and very competitive Carlos Felipe of Orlando, Fl. and co-driven by veteran Audi rally driver/navigator - Constantine Mantopoulos of Staten Island, NY. Both team members are prior challengers of the Sandblast Rally and are very familiar with the conditions and obstacles presented in this forest.
In light of the Audi's technological handicaps and expected fierce competition, we know that an outright win is highly unlikely. Baring any mechanical issues or driver/co-driver errors, we should place well among the top finishers and hopefully embarass a few of our Japanese rivals along the way. One thing is certain...the Audi's performance, looks and sounds will stand out and instantly become one of the crowd favorites. This rally car will perform and this crew will entertain.
Please come out to support us and bring your friends. For more information about the rally, go to: www.sandblastrally.com

Best of luck! I'll be heading down from Raleigh and crewing for a friend of mine driving a 1st gen Eagle Talon. It's his first stage rally

If I spot your car in the pits I'll be sure to stop by and say hello.
