Default Anyone do a wheel/hub stud conversion? After replacing a hub (and wheel bearing) due to snapped lug

I would rather covert to studs than buying more lugs.

What are my options?

I see <a href="http://www.ecstuning.com/HR/appguides/app_search.cgi?make=&qt=studbolt&model=&thread=14x 1.5&submit=Search!">these at ECS</a>.

I assume I need 60mm ball seat for my OEM 17" RS4 Type wheels &amp; B5 S4 Avus wheels both running 8mm spacers.

pic of snapped lug for views...

Craftsman air-gun grade bolt-out snapped in half:

drilled out and used a screw-type bolt-out to no avail and a tap isn't strong enough to get through what's left (top left one):

Default Can you get to it from both sides?

I had more success getting one out from the back when I snapped one off in my MINI.

I can now that it's been removed from the car. probably going to try and keep it as a spare.

Default Really?

Propane/MAP/ or acetylene?

An acetylene torch should be able to melt it right out if you wanted to get that aggressive.

At least now that it's out you can drill it and then get it out that way.

Our project S4 was converted with studs. It is an excellent mod.

we used one from a welder. you can see some white residue. any more drilling and it's a paperweight.

Default I am not sure, we procured the parts from one of the race garages that

helped set up our car before a race. The studs have been on the car for about two years. They work great. We check the tightness of the studs from time to time to make sure they are set in place. We should be able to get a set for you if you want.
