i need some expert tire judgement.......slight n00bery inside.....
im going to a track event, and i need some advice on which tires i should use. It will be 2 days with significant track time. the choices are as follows (both on stock 16" wheels)....
P225/50ZR16 Pirelli P-Zero Neros with about 90% tread left. (these are my current summer daily driver tires which im hoping will last me at least one or two more summers)
P205/55ZR16 Dunlop SP8000E's with about 5-10% tread left. (these are my old summer tires that i didnt throw away. i thought maybe i could just totally use them up)
the question is, if i take the dunlops, will i bald them enough to be dangerous for the drive home? also, how bad will my treadwear be with the Pirellis. Ive done the track with Bridgestone Potenza RE730s before. the treadwear itself wasnt too bad, but the edges of the tires blistered really badly. any advice
