Default Motorsports related: aluminum trailers

I'm on the east coast and would like to get an open trailer. We just pulled an open steel trailer with our UrQ using a 1996 blazer (GMC Jimmy). It went well (through Pensy, up and down the hills), but an aluminum one would be better.

Some ?s...

1) Cost - I see many start around $4k or so. Any good sources for used ones?

2) stabilizer bars - do aluminum trailers use these bars?

3) Size - What size to look for for 1 car?

4) Location - if there is anyone in the CT area who has one and would like to rent theirs out, please let me know. I've towed up to 14,000 lbs (closed trailer with a chevy LWB truck) as well as the smaller open trailers.

Thx.
Jon

Default Most of the local guys with aluminum

trailers got them in Ohio. I believe the manufacturer is there. Somewhere close to Nelson Ledges track.

I think the bar question is more related to the overall weight. If it is over ? you need a bar. I'm guessing, but I think that's what I've heard.

Used ones...Swap Sheet/EBay/Autotrader...go out to LimeRock one weekend and ask around.

Default Officially ..yes..

But...if you don't leave it there all the time..probably ok. I use to have a tent trailer...and was find with leaving it in my driveway for over 1.5 years. My trailer is bigger than the tent trailer...easier to see around...but a much larger footprint. I also don't want it to get stolen.
