Default Photos from the Rallycross

Well, I (an my car) survived the Rallycross at Thunderhill on Saturday. Soooo much fun ! I was only one of two Audis. The other was an old '84 Quattro Coupe. The rest of the field was Subaru Impreza's, a couple of Civics, a Mini, and an Evo.

Driving a dead stock 1988 90Q with summer asphalt tyres is certainyl interseting when you're up against people with 100 hp more than you !!

Haven't seen the final times, but it's possible I didn't come last

Hmm, stock suspension allows a fair bit of body roll !!

Check out my pictureposter for more photos. Unfortunately the guy that volunteered to take photos only used low res

Unfortunately I'm not goign to be around for any of the ones for the rest of the season, but it was great fun.

Default Looks like fun.. but I can't imagine doing it to a street car..

A friend took his WRX wagon and did it in the mud last year. Funny stuff.

Default Guys used to show up

with rentals and beat the daylights out of them. 5 or six guys would go in on a FWD whatever, and have at it.

They've changed the rules now. But every so often someone will show up with a street car, and .... Let's just say they usually don't sound or run quite as well when they're done.

They see a few rally cars out there and the times, and try to do it in a stock whatever. It's fun to see them launch Buicks and such, and get them up on 2 wheels.

I think I've got some video of a couple of guys trying that.

Default Hey. mine is my daily driver and it survived

The course was pretty smooth dirt - no big dips, no gravel, no jumps.

Practically everyone there was in a street WRX ! Of course, one guy did manage to go off into the grass. Not sure what his bumber looked like afterwards

I was joking with one of the other guys there about doing a Chevy "24 hour test drive" for an auto / rallycross.

Default Ah!

Now add some stickers, and I'd volunteer to drive that ol' beater.
